Armed Robbery Case Cracked After Police Encounter in Budaun, Three Wanted Criminals Arrested
Budaun police arrested three ₹25,000-rewarded robbers after a late-night encounter while solving the Regalia Garden Colony armed robbery case. The accused were injured in crossfire, a constable was wounded, and illegal weapons, cash, and stolen valuables were recovered.
According to police officials, the three suspects—each carrying a cash reward of ₹25,000—were involved in an armed robbery in which a woman was held hostage at gunpoint inside her home. Acting on precise intelligence inputs, police teams launched a coordinated operation that culminated in an encounter when the accused attempted to evade arrest and opened fire.
During the exchange, all three accused sustained bullet injuries and were overpowered by the police. A constable was also injured in the firing and was immediately shifted for medical treatment. Police confirmed that the condition of all injured individuals is stable and they are under medical supervision.
A significant cache of stolen property and illegal weapons was recovered from the arrested suspects. The seized items include a looted licensed .32 bore pistol, a laptop, mobile phones, jewelry, ₹50,000 in cash, and three illegal country-made firearms. Officials stated that the recoveries directly link the accused to the Regalia Garden Colony robbery case.
The operation was conducted under the direct supervision and guidance of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Budaun. Senior officers described the arrests as a major step toward curbing violent crime in the district and restoring public confidence in law enforcement.
With the suspects now in custody and the case effectively solved, police authorities believe the crackdown will send a strong message to organized criminal elements operating in the region. The successful operation underscores the district police’s intensified efforts to dismantle armed gangs and ensure greater safety for residents.
